Welfare

Safeguarding is considered an important issue at Bedford Eagles Diving Club, and we are doing everything we can to ensure that our divers can train and compete in a safe manner. We carry out Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks in respect of all adults who have one-to-one contact with children.

We have formally adopted the Swim England Safeguarding procedures (“Wave Power”), and this details how we should deal with any allegation or suspected case of abuse, you can see this document by clicking on this link.

Children and young people associated with our club are encouraged to share with a trusted adult anything which makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe.  The Child Power document helps children and young people understand what safeguarding is and what they can do if they have any concerns.

If you, either as a diver or parent/carer of a diver, have any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of any of the divers, please contact Sharon Clarke, Welfare Officer through bedfordeagleswelfare@outlook.com.
